Health. There are so many topics and discussions about what it is to be healthy, and what to do to be healthy. There are fad diets (I know all of us have tried one before, *cough* “Low-Fat”…), different forms of exercise (high intensity, low intensity, crossfit, barre, etc.), and even new “superfoods” that appear out of nowhere. SO, what is the answer?! What do we have to do to have a smoking hot body, and be healthy?!
My answer: In order to be healthy, you must start with your mind.
The most important factor to your health and wellness, in my opinion, is your mentality. Are you working out, or eating healthy because you hate the way your body looks? Or are you doing all of that because you enjoy working out and eating healthily, and have love and respect for your body?
This may be my inner yogi speaking, but do everything out of love. I find it ridiculous that there is an “ideal body image”. Why must we strive to be skinny? What about being healthy? Not every body is the same! Some individuals are tall and naturally slim, while others are shorter and have more bone density. Is one more beautiful than the other? Absolutely not!
Here is my solution… Love your body for what it is. If you want to change, say lose some weight, then do it because you want to better your health and live a long a happy life. If you workout, do it because you want to be stronger. If you eat nutrient dense foods, do it because you love the way it makes you feel. Don’t stress over being “skinny” or “healthy”. Focus on finding balance, and find your niche. Once you start focusing on what makes YOU feel good, then everything else will fall into place.
I totally agree with this. We must love ourselves, and take care of ourselves BECAUSE we love ourselves. Not try to achieve something for shallow goals that will not make us happy in the end.

Love this. It’s so easy to be pulled in by the media and taught to hate yourself, just because you don’t quite fit with their ideal of the day. I write about similar topics in my blog, would love to hear what you thought tums2toes.com
