As this is my first post, I decided to take this moment to express a little bit more about the purpose of this blog: Finding myself.
As a 21 year old girl, I feel very lost as to what my purpose in life is. I’ve gone from wanting to be a chef, to wanting to be a personal trainer, and now I’m kind of stuck in between… unsure of where and what I want to be. But that’s why I am here!!!
Here are the primary things I am passionate about (in no particular order):
- Physical Fitness/ Health & Wellness
- Family and Friends
What I crave for is the ability to combine all of these into my career. I want balance. That’s my ultimate dream! SO… the question is now, “how do you find yourself?”
My belief is that there is no solution to finding yourself because, quite frankly, we are continuously learning about ourselves. Every moment, ever situation, every encounter, and every adventure create who we are. We are constantly evolving and growing… There really is not a way for you to find your “true” self. You are a number of things. You become who you are through the people you surround yourself with (friends and family), the food that you eat, the places you explore, the movies you watch, the books you read… There are so many factors that play in making you, you.
This was the revelation that I thought up today during an afternoon walk, which, in turn, encouraged me to base this blog around. I thought about who I was. If I am happy with who I am. And yes, I am very happy. I have had my moments of sadness and depression, but I learned from those moments. It’s helped me become stronger and more grounded in my beliefs and passions. I have also had my moments of immense happiness and excitement, and those moments have helped me become more enthusiastic about life and to not take things too seriously.
Life is a journey. As I said, you are constantly growing. Don’t set an ideology of yourself. Grow. Continue to learn about your passions, and your fears. Be open to adventures, because every moment in your life will develop you even more as a person.
So there it is. My first blog post. Kind of scary, but exciting at the same time.
Here’s to a new chapter in my life!
